CLERMONT AUTO DEALER GOING 'GREEN' (continued)

Headquarter Honda at 17700 State Road 50 will be certified by the U.S. Green Building Council, a nonprofit organization providing a nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings.

Owner and operator Jeronimo M. Esteve plans to earn the council's highest green rating, its "platinum" LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification.

Building projects can earn LEED points for satisfying specific green criteria such as greater energy efficiency, water efficiency and improved indoor environmental quality.

The building is slated for completion in February 2010.
